Day Spring Farm

Artisan Sheep Milk Cheeses and Fiber Arts
ABOUT US

Day Spring Farm is a small, multi-use operation located in Chester County, PA.  We produce artisan sheep milk cheeses from our small herd of East Friesian ewes, various meats from animals raised free and out doors, and unique wool crafts.  We also hold periodic workshops for those interested in learning the skills of working with wool and cheese making.

Acquired by the Inslee family in 1977 for homesteading purposes, Day Spring Farm began to evolve into a farming business in 2012 and is currently run by mother (Frances) and daughter (Julia).  Most important to us are: happy animals, sharing knowledge, and providing wholesome food to our neighbors.

Making Changes to Safely Access Our Products During COVID-19

We are working hard to update our system so that our customers can safely purchase our products.  Cheese season is rapidly approaching.  We will be at our first farmers market of the season on April 11th in Phoenixville.  To insure safety, we are asking that customers purchase online and then pickup their order at the market.  It will also now be possible to order online and have all products shipped.

Animal Therapy in These Uncertain Times

We are living in a very strange moment and the worry and disruptions to our lives are very real.  However, life on the farm remains fairly normal.  When I go out to the pasture, lambs, ewes, and alpacas continue as they always do--demanding food, eating, relaxing after their meals, lambs racing each other, and alpacas judging my terrible construction abilities.  They carry on as normal, which means I too must carry on as normal.  There is calm and peace among these critters.  And because of their theraputic abilities, I wish to share more of them with you.  I will try to post more pictures and videos to spread a little joy and peace in these uncertain times.  Good luck and stay healthy.
